KITOKU SHINBUNEI launches “Okayama Prefecture Kibichuo-machi Koshihikari” in rice bags containing 20% inedible rice flour

KINOTOKU SHINBUNEI, rice bag containing 20% inedible rice flour "Koshihikari, Kibichuo Town, Okayama Prefecture"

(President: Nobuo Takeuchi) recently launched "Okayama Prefecture Kibichuo-machi Koshihikari" (5 kg) in a rice bag made from inedible rice flour.

The rice flour is made from inedible rice flour generated at the Niigata Flour Mill, which is the rice flour production base of Kotoku Shinbun. The product is now being sold at 13 mass merchandisers operated by Ryobi Store Company (Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; Ichiho Shinya, General Manager of Ryobi Store Company), which was originally a wholesaler of rice flour produced in Kibichuo-machi.

KITOKU SHINBUNEI says, "This is an initiative that can contribute to the SDGs by reducing the use of petroleum-derived plastics and food loss. We will continue to expand the number of products that use environmentally friendly packaging and develop packaging that reduces the use of petroleum-based plastics.
