Nippon Shuzui Sales recently released a limited-quantity Shirakami Sanchi no Shiki Ikumoto Junmai Akita Inu Label (720 ml/open price) (sold by Yaesu Meikozo and produced by Akita Meikozo).
This junmai sake is brewed with Miyamanishiki produced in Akita Prefecture. Despite the cute dog label image, this product has a rich, robust flavor.
It goes well with cream-based dishes such as gratin, stewed pork cubes, and yellowtail radish, as well as with kiritanpo nabe, a dish unique to Akita Prefecture. It is especially delicious at room temperature, lukewarm or hot.
