Nissin Sysco Corporation (President: Masashi Asai) will launch Upcycle Cookie Iitokodori Baked Cheese Flavour and Upcycle Cookie Iitokodori Cocoa Flavour nationwide on 3 April (Monday).
As we reach a major turning point towards a sustainable society, 'upcycling' is attracting attention as a way of adding new value to things that were originally intended to be thrown away and reborn.
In response to this, the company has launched the new Upcycle Cookie Iitokodori, which is designed to be healthier for the body and to reduce food loss.
Upcycle Cookies Oittokodori Baked Cheese Flavour and Upcycle Cookies Oittokodori Cocoa Flavour are bite-sized cookies made by kneading okara, which is rich in dietary fibre, into the dough and baking it to a soft and fluffy texture. They contain less than 9g of sugar per serving and are rich in dietary fibre, which is often lacking in our daily diet. Upcycled Cookies - Good for You" will help reduce the amount of okara waste, which is said to amount to 30,000-60,000 tonnes* per year.
