Kyokuyo - Ingredients Series [Dandori Ue Yawaraka Pork Loin Slices]

 

Kyokuyo held a new product announcement on February 22 at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu in Nagatacho, Tokyo. 9 products for commercial use and 20 products for commercial use will be introduced in the spring of 2023.

Of these, 3 are frozen and 6 canned products for the commercial market, 15 are frozen, 3 are frozen chilled, and 2 are ultra-low-temperature distribution and storage products for the commercial market. For commercial use, eight new meat products will be added to the [Dandori Ute] series, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023. The lineup will be expanded to further strengthen the brand.

The development theme for this year's product lineup is [Delicious, Healthy, and Good!] and the theme for this year's development is [Delicious, Healthy, and Good!] While the domestic working population continues to decline, the resumption of full-scale economic activities following the Corona disaster is expected to aggravate labor shortages in the medium to long term as well as in the short term. Against this backdrop, the company will introduce products that will contribute to reducing labor shortages at professional cooking sites and reducing labor for the growing number of dual-income and single-person households.

The "Dandori Uki" series of frozen foods for professional use was created from boneless fillets to meet the needs of cooking sites with labor shortages and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023. The series has grown against the backdrop of labor shortages and the need for simplified cooking, and although the recent Corona disaster has slowed its growth, it has reached 6 billion yen per year.

This time, eight new [soft meat] products were launched. The new products include six beef and pork products from the [Ingredients] series, which allow consumers to enjoy the original taste of meat and expand the variety of dishes, and two processed chicken products from the [Seasoned] series, which can be eaten as-is after being thawed naturally.

The [Ingredient Series] includes beef and pork products that can be cooked while frozen and remain tender and tasty even when cold.

Soft beef shoulder offcuts (500g each)
--The company launched four new products. While maintaining the natural texture of the meat, the marinade technology softens the meat threads, making it easier to eat.

The boiled-type products include
Soft-boiled beef belly slice
Soft-boiled pork shoulder slices (500g each)
--Two products were released. These products are boiled after softening to reduce cooking time. The production plants for both of the ingredient series are cooperating factories in Japan.

In the seasoned series
Soft Grilled Chicken Steak (300g)
Soft Grilled Chicken with Negi-Salt (345g)
--Two products were released. The chicken is soft and tender, mainly for use in facilities and school lunches. The chicken is cut into three easy-to-eat pieces and can be defrosted naturally, reducing the amount of time and effort required. Both of the seasoned series are produced at a partner factory in China.

In addition, a new species of fish have been added to the boneless fillet series: [White Cod Fillet (boneless)] (60g x 5 pieces/70g x 5 pieces/80g x 5 pieces). Shiroganedara is a type of Merluccius landed in Canada and is a popular fish for surimi. It is also used in the company's Ocean King products. It is a soft and moist fish with no peculiarities and can be easily combined with any dish in Japanese, Chinese, or Western cuisine. The production plant is a cooperative factory overseas.

From the grilled fish series, [Salmon Salt Grilled (boneless)] (20g x 10 pieces) was released. This grilled fish is made from pink salmon and can be defrosted and eaten as is. The manufacturing plant is KYOKUYO GLOBAL SEAFOODS (Thailand). Including this new product and future developments, the sales target for the [Dandori Ute] series in two years is 10 billion yen for fish and 2 billion yen for meat, for a total of 12 billion yen, double the current scale.

Other new frozen food products for commercial use are as follows

In addition to the addition of an avocado flavor to the [Osashimi Vegetable] series, the tomato and corn flavors have been renewed and launched as new products (240g each). The [Osashimi Vegetable] is a plant-based product that offers a new way to eat vegetables. The avocado flavor is characterized by its bright green color, which adds color to sushi, carpaccio, and salads, and makes for a more attractive dish. The company will also consider marketing the product through commercial channels by revamping the packaging. The manufacturing plant is Kyokuyo Foods' Shiogama Plant.

Minami Tuna Kama Nimikake (300g) is a fatty kama with plenty of meat, simmered in a sweet and spicy homemade sauce with garlic and ginger. It is made at a cooperative factory in Japan.

The Yaki-imo Croquettes (10 pieces, 350g) are made from the paste of "Beni-Tenshi" baked sweet potatoes produced in Ibaraki Prefecture, which are carefully harvested and kept at a constant temperature to maximize their sweetness. The manufacturing plant is Kyokuyo Foods Shiogama Plant.
