On March 8th, Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan will launch the [Teriyaki Tamago Twister] at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) stores nationwide.

The single item is priced at 390 yen including tax. The [Teriyaki Tamago Twister Set] with fries (S) and drink (M) is 750 yen including tax. The [Teriyakita Mago Twister Box] with original chicken, fries (S), drink (M), and cookie is 950 yen including tax. Limited quantities are available, and sales will end when all items are gone. Some stores may not carry this item.

Kentucky Fried Chicken's [Twister] is a tortilla (thin bread) wrap based on crispy boneless chicken [kernel crispies] and lettuce. Tortillas, traditionally popular in Mexico, are made from corn flour, but Kentucky Fried Chicken's tortillas are made from wheat flour and are characterized by being easy to eat and having no peculiar taste. The company offers three standard products: [Pepper Mayo Twister], [Teriyaki Twister], and [Basil Lemon Twister] (340 yen each, tax included).

The [Teriyaki Tamago Twister] is a new product with a "springtime taste" that is filled with KFC's original teriyaki sauce and a soft, melty egg. The mild taste of the half-boiled egg is well mixed with the sweet and spicy teriyaki sauce to create a "very mild taste. The eggs are processed.

According to the product development manager, the half-boiled egg was selected from among more than 30 possible toppings to match the flavor of the teriyaki sauce. In order to accentuate the flavor of the half-boiled egg, the base ingredient for the twister was fine-tuned to achieve the optimum flavor.
