Komeda Coffee Shop launches Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi and Ogura Neige Yuzu Nagomi, “Japanese hospitality with Ogura and Yuzu”, 2023 Spring Shiro Noir and Kroner Neige.

On 1 March, Komeda Coffee Shop will launch its spring 2023 seasonal sweets, Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi and Ogura Neige Yuzu Nagomi, at its shops nationwide, with some exceptions.

The seasonal Shiro Noir 'Ogura Noir', which has many fans eagerly awaiting its annual sale, is covered with a refreshingly fragrant yuzu sauce, along with the seasonal Kronerige 'Ogura Neige'.

Komeda's signature product, Shiro Noir, is a hot Danish pancake topped with cold soft-serve ice cream and sweet syrup. The name 'shiro noir' (white noir) is derived from the French word 'noir', meaning 'black', and from the white soft-serve ice cream on top of the dark Danish pancake dough.

In contrast, the 'cronège' is a warm baumkuchen with a hint of cocoa, topped with smooth vanilla soft serve ice cream. The name is a combination of the colour black, which is the shade of cocoa, and the French word neige, which means snow.

The new Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi and Ogura Neige Yuzu Nagomi will be available until mid-April. Prices vary depending on the shop. Regular-sized Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi is priced between 780 and 840 yen including tax, while mini-sized Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi is priced between 580 and 640 yen including tax. Ogura Neige Yuzu Nagomi is priced between JPY 680 and JPY 740 including tax.

The Ogura Noir Yuzu Nagomi is a Danish bun filled with Komeda's special Ogura-an and topped with soft-serve ice cream and yuzu sauce. The finishing touch is a matcha green tea fiantine topping, making it a visually refreshing dish. The yuzu sauce, made from Kochi Prefecture yuzu, has a good balance of sourness and sweetness and goes well with the Ogura-an and soft-serve ice cream.

The Ogura Neige Yuzu Nagomi is a soft, warm cocoa baumkuchen filled with Komeda's special Ogura-an filling and finished with a soft-serve ice-cream topped with yuzu sauce. The cocoa aroma of the cocoa baumkuchen and the aroma of the yuzu sauce combine to create a perfect match.
